Stir fry cabbage with bunashimeiji mushrooms

Image
I like to buy cabbage and cook it nearer to the end of the week. The reason is simply because I only go marketing once a week on weekends. When I first started this whole marketing/cooking, I was unaware of how fast the vegetables will spoil and always ended up throwing some yellowed vegetables. Through experience, now I know cabbage is one of the more lasting vegetables that I can safely leave it in my fridge for a few days and not having to worry about it spoiling. And it's very easy to cook too! Ingredients 1/2 Beijing cabbage 1 tsp dried shrimps Chopped garlic Bunashimeiji mushrooms Oyster sauce  Recipe 1. Soak the dried shrimps till soften and cut off the bottom parts of the mushrooms. Cut the cabbage into half. Cut off the thick part of the cabbage and cut the cabbage into slices. (thickness to your liking) 2. Heat up some oil in the wok and put in the chopped garlic and dried shrimps. 3. Let it cook till you can smell the nice fragrance of the dried shrimps...

Pardon my photo below cuz I know you cannot see the salmon at all due to overloading of cheese and capsicum. I was trying to clear the fridge... :p  Ingredients Salmon Capsium (yellow & green) Bunashimeiji Salt Pepper Olive oil Some stock Shredded cheese mix  (for pizza etc.) Dried parsley Recipe 1. Marinate the salmon with salt and pepper and place them on the baking tray. 2. Cut the capsicum into cubes and remove the bottom parts of the bunashimeiji mushrooms. Arrange them on top of the salmon. 3. Add the shredded cheese on top to ensure it is covered. 4. Drizzle olive oil over it and add some stock to it. (I added the ABC soup I was cooking) 5. Bake at 180 degree celcius till it is cooked. (Mine took about 10 minutes) 6. Sprinkle dried par...

Bunashimeiji mushrooms butter yaki

Image
My son loves to eat mushrooms particularly bunashimeiji mushrooms. You can get it from the supermarket either the white ones or the brown ones. Usually I would add them to the vegetables and stir fry or sometimes chop them up and add into the omelette. One day I chanced upon this blog entry from Just one cook book - seared scallops and decided to try making a similar sauce and cooking just the mushrooms itself. While cooking, I was wondering how would the taste turn out to be but luckily it is approved by both husband and son. Hence, decided to share this recipe on my blog. ^^ Ingredients Bunashimeiji mushrooms Shallots Garlic  Butter Soy sauce Some stock or water Cornstarch solution  Recipe 1. Cut off the bottom part of the mushrooms and discard. Chop some garlic and shallot to set aside. Reason why I had shallots is because I happened to have some chopped ones in my fridge. It can be replaced by onion. 2. Add some butter to the pan and heat till it melt....
